Emily is orginally from Gainesville, GA. She discovered her love for pottery when she landed in a pottery class at North Georgia College taught by the late Bob Owens.  After one class she fell in love with working in clay.   Emily took several more pottery classes at North Georgia College as well as classes at The Quinlan Arts Center and The Penland School of Crafts.   In the Spring of 2003, Emily opened The Willows Pottery for Habersham Winery.  She is the retail manager and one of the house potters at The Willows. She lives in Sautee with her husband Nathan, son Luke and their two Australian Shepherds, Roxie and Julie, who you sometimes have the pleasure of meeting while visiting the shop.
